Their journey began in the spring of 2021, right in their own neighborhood at The Paddock Apartments in Kalamazoo. Living next door to each other, they had no idea that this chance encounter would lead to a beautiful love story. At the time, Kennedy was finishing her bachelor’s degree at Western Michigan University, while Jason was working at Parker Hannifin, where he continues to thrive today.

Their first official date took place on June 1st, 2021. They decided to keep it sweet and simple—grabbing ice cream and then enjoying a lovely walk and picnic at Asylum Lake Preserve. That day marked the beginning of countless adventures together.

Fast forward to September 5th, 2021, after a memorable day spent with Jason’s family, he asked Kennedy to be his girlfriend. It was a moment filled with joy and excitement, and from there, their bond only grew stronger.

They’ve shared many wonderful experiences, especially their love for travel. Exploring national parks has become a cherished tradition for them, with Glacier National Park holding a special place in their hearts. Each trip has brought them closer and created memories they’ll treasure forever.

Their little family also includes two adorable cats, Josie and Smudge, who keep them entertained and loved. After moving into their first apartment together, they took a big step in April 2024 when Jason bought a house, turning it into a cozy home filled with laughter and love.

The most magical moment came on December 21st, 2024. Jason took Kennedy back to Asylum Lake Preserve, where it all began, and in a beautifully planned surprise, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! That night, they celebrated with both sides of their families, surrounded by love and happiness.
